The automatic locking function is programed into the vehicles on board computer. This function can be changed by the dealer service deparment with a fairly simple re-programing. The dealer has to do it because not many independent garages have the correct computer to do any re-programing. The cost of these computers are high and the updates are expensive, therefore the only place to get this done will be the car dealership.
