NEVER. Unless you want to torture her, and come back to find a trash house or no Husky around.

Would a husky be okay in a hot climate if you kept it indoors when it was too warm?

Siberian Huskies have 2 coats a thick coarse top layer and a soft layer below that. They prefer cooler temperatures but would survive in hotter ones as well. Just make sure that your husky is also properly hydrated. If your husky is outside make sure there is plenty of shade and water. if your going to leave your husky alone in the house for a while provide water and air conditioning.

Is a Siberian Husky active during the night?

it depends on the owner. if it is an inside dog then it will most likely stay up as long as you are. mine goes to sleep around seven pm every night unless we leave the house....in which case she will be waiting for us to come back.

What are the ancestors of the husky?

Depends on which breed of Husky your talking about. There are the Alaskan Husky, the Canadian Husky and the Siberian Husky. I'm only knowledgeable on the Siberian. The Siberian is a sled dog bred by the Chukchi people from Siberia. They've been living and working with this mystical breed for thousands of years. The belief is they were captured in the wild and bred to pull sleds, hunt and as living companions. The Siberian husky is a medium sized dog (40 to 60 ibs) with varying coat and eye colors. They are, *ahem*, a unique breed. Definitely not for first time dog owners or even most experienced dog owners. They can be and will be, destructive, independent and test your patience and dedication. This isn't the dog you leave at home, inside all day while your at work or school. If you do, your in for a miserable experience. I think this beautiful dog's wild tendancies is a direct relation to his close genetic past with wild dogs, which were closely related to wolves.

How do you take care of a Siberian huskie?

Siberian huskies are loving, energetic , playful dogs that need a lot of attention and exercise. If you live in a hot climate like Mexico, make sure your dog is kept indoors with air conditioning and plenty of water. they need to be walked or ran at least 1-2 times per day. These dogs also need attention. if you leave them for too long in a house by themselves they can become destructive. EX; eating walls, carpet & furniture. also if you leave them outside for too long by themselves they will escape. They can jump low fences and dig under them. I suggest high fences that go into the ground. If a husky gets out they will keep running and running. While training your husky you must be persistent and patient for these dogs are independent minded and stubborn. all in all huskies are great dogs that are very social they are great with kids and other dogs but they shed a lot. :P
