An individual cannot submit a court judgment to the credit reporting agencies; however the County will report the judgment to the bureaus only by using the complete name and address of the defendant.

How do you write a letter disputing a judgment on your credit report?

When you obtain a copy of your credit report, look on the back of it where instructions tell you how to submit a dispute. When you mail it back to them, they will investigate it and send you a written response. If you don't know how to get a copy of your credit report, apply for credit somewhere and when they turn you down you can mail that letter to the credit reporting agencies and they will send you a free copy of your report by mail.

What are some credit agencies?

There are three major credit agencies. They are transunion, Experian and Equifax. They have websites and if you submit your information, they will email you your credit report and score.

Can you have a public record judgment changed to show collection?

You didn't mention whether the debt has been paid in full. If it has then get documents from the court or the lender that prove that. Then submit in writing to all three major credit reporting agencies your docs with a letter of explanation. The P.R. judgement will stay on your report but it will be marked "satisfied" and then will not affect your getting a mortgage loan.

You have an old phone bill from 7 years ago and it has fallen off your credit as of 2 months ago are you still responsible?

You are still responsible for the bill if it hasn't been taken care of yet.The phone company has just not done anything with the credit reporting agencies concerning the bill. They have probably just written it off as a loss and forgotten about it, but they could probably submit another new entry to the credit reporting agencies and start it all over again, as long as there is no statute of limitations in your state concerning old bills.

Can you get a paid judgment removed from your report since it was paid off within the deadline time?

You can submit a copy of the satisfaction of judgment to the credit bureaus that this will improve your credit rating somewhat. The best thing to do is to ask the judgment creditor to stipulate to set aside the judgment and dismiss the case. You would need to send a copy of the order setting aside the judgment to the credit bureaus. You can try disputing the entry, but the existence of the judgment is a matter of public record.

If you paid off a credit card 4 years ago and it is still on your credit report they need proof that you paid it but you closed that checking account when you moved can you still obtain its history?

There are two things you should do. First, dispute the information with the credit reporting agency (you may have to dispute it with all three -- Experiean, TransUnion and Equifax -- if it appears on all three reports). This compells them legally to conduct an investigation and prove the information they show is correct. However, it's been said that those investigations are mostly for show, so you need to contact the institution through which you had the credit card and ask for a letter stating the account is paid off and closed. You can then submit a copy of that letter to the credit agencies. After that, they must legally amend the information, pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Be sure to keep the orignal letter from the credit card company, as the bad information may show up again and you may have to resubmit the proof of payment to the credit agencies.

Is credit card balance real time when a credit check is done?

No, credit card companies submit to the credit agencies on a monthly basis at the end of each month. So if you are checking your credit card the 3rd week of the month you will see last months credit card statement balance not what you currently owe on your credit card.
