Christianity can be summed up in the prayer recorded in Matthew 6:9-10: Sanctifying the name of God and enforcing his will by means of what is known as the Kingdom. This is what Jesus taught about while on earth and commanded his followers to Talk about. Thus, Christianity is 'Preaching and Teaching about the Kingdom of God', and about what that Kingdom will do (Daniel 2:44)

A:Christianity has its roots in the Jewish religion and includes the (Jewish) Hebrew Bible in its own scriptures, as the Old Testament. The remainder of the Christian Bible is known as the New Testament. As with Judaism, the religion of the Jews, Christianity says that there is only one God. However, Jesus is also worshipped as the Son of God. Eventually, this was resolved by recognising God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost as a single godhead called the Holy Trinity.

Christianity is not really a monolithic religion, with a single, unchanging set of doctrines. It appears that Christianity was never really united, but modern Christianity is represented by the Catholic Church, Orthodox Churches, Coptic Church, Protestant Churches and some minor denominations that do not really fit neatly into any of the above categories. Some minor denominations do not accept the concept of the Holy Trinity, outlined above. At least one minor denomination says that there are really many gods, although only one God that we should worship.

Jesus is believed to have been born in the autonomous Roman province of Judea, ruled by King Herod the Great, sometime before 4 BCE. He began preaching to the Jews around 30 years later, but was crucified on the orders of Pontius Pilate the Roman governor of Judea. He is claimed to have risen from the dead shortly afterwards, appeared to his disciples, then ascended bodily into heaven. Many Christians believe that Jesus will one day return, to herald the end of the world.

Christians believe that after people die, their souls either go to an eternal reward in heaven or an eternal punishment in hell, although there are somewhat different beliefs as to what determines whether we go to heaven. According to some, faith in Jesus and good works, plus forgiveness of sins are necessary in order to go to heaven. For others, faith in Jesus is all that is required for a soul to go to heaven, since faith causes sins to be forgiven. In the Catholic Church, the souls of those who have committed minor sins, but have not sought forgiveness for those sins, go to purgatory, where punishment is not eternal. The Catholic Church says that only those who have committed mortal sins, such as murder, and have not sought forgiveness for those sins, go to hell.

A:The religion of Christianity is based on information found in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.

God created humans and gave us a clear Law on how he wants us to live. In order to get to heaven, God says we must obey his Law perfectly, not "pretty good" or "good enough," but 100% perfect. No one can live up to God's standards, even babies are sinful from the moment they are conceived. No person can ever work to be able to get to heaven, and every single one of us deserves eternal separation from God in hell.

But God had a plan to save his lost people. From the very first sin, God promised a savior who would come to redeem the world from their sin. This savior was Jesus, the Son of God. Jesus lived the perfect life we could not live, then took the punishment we deserved when he died on the cross. He paid for the sins of the world completely. Then he rose from the dead and he will come again on the last day.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

God loves you so much and he wants you to be in heaven with him!

The Bible tells us that all people have gone astray and no longer have a relationship with God the creator and sustainer of all things. This is called sin.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

The Bible also says that one day God will judge all people and because of their sin.

But the Bible says that God has provided a way for people to escape the judgement they are due, that is through the death of Jesus Christ who died to appease God's wrath.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

A Christian is a person who believes this and has accepted God's gift of salvation from judgment.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1John 5:11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

1John 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

1John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God

Christians also believe that when a person believes they receive God's Holy Spirit as a seal of their new relationship with God. The Holy Spirit leads and guides the Christian, enabling the Christian to live a life pleasing to God.

Ephesians 1:13 And you also became God's people when you heard the true message, the Good News that brought you salvation. You believed in Christ, and God put his stamp of ownership on you by giving you the Holy Spirit he had promised.

Ephesians 1:14 The Spirit is the guarantee that we shall receive what God has promised his people, and this assures us that God will give complete freedom to those who are his. Let us praise his glory!

Christians believe that one Jesus Christ will return to earth to take all believers dead and living, to be with Him.

1 Thessalonians 4:15 W_ hat we are teaching you now is the Lord's teaching: we who are alive on the day the Lord comes will not go ahead of those who have died.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 There will be the shout of command, the archangel's voice, the sound of God's Trumpet, and the Lord himself will come down from heaven. Those who have died believing in Christ will rise to life first;

1 Thessalonians 4:17 then we who are living at that time will be gathered up along with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.

Disciples (means to imitate) of Jesus following the Laws of God which can be summarized as follows:

Matthew 22:36-40New King James Version (NKJV)36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"37 Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40" On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
