To "kick a horse out" its box needs to be destroyed or its stay must finish. You can move one horse each day so you can try and move it to your most damaged box and then not nrepair the box. You do end up with one less box though. Or you can just wait for its stay to end and refuse and extensions it asks for.

∙ 13y agoLook to the Right on your horse's page. It should state that your horse is not boarded in an Equestrian Center. There will also be a button..."Register My Horse".
Click That.
Then find the EC you like and click the button next to the name, (pss...it's green!)
Then your horse is boarded.
It is also cheaper to board your horse in your own EC, because you pay nothing.
