If you want to be environmental, there is a website called e-stewards that has info about recycling in your area. The post office also takes some electronics and mails them to recycling plants so that may be a third option

Info is correct as per Subaru Trouble Code Info P0500. What I would do is disconnect the battery negative post, wait 10 minutes and reconnect post. That will reset the car computer (and bug up your preset radio stations). If problem persist, take your car to a service center to do a diagnostic check. Good luck...
