Are you using iLife '08? If you are, its really easy. Once you've created your movie in iMovie, follow the instruction in the video posted below: http://www.woopid.com/view_video.php?viewkey=80425175 If you're unsure of how to make a DVD once the movie has been sent to iDVD, this video will explain how to use iDVD '08: http://www.woopid.com/view_video.php?viewkey=80425188
To share a movie created in iMovie: From the iMovie Share menu select iDVD. Your project will be passed to iDVD where you can select a theme for your menu etc. When you have set up your DVD select Burn DVD... from the file menu. Once the DVD is created it can be played anywhere that plays DVD - computers, TV/DVD Player etc. If it is only a short movie one of the other options from the iMovie Share menu will probably suffice. A small movie can be emailed, burnt to a disc and shared with other computers, or posted directly to a YouTube account. The iMovie software itself will not work on a Windows computer.
You use iDVD to make a menu for the imovie, and it will attach that to your movie. Insert a DVD, and a DVD icon will show on the desktop. Drag the file into the DVD. Right mouse click (or hold control and click) and click 'burn'. It will now play in your DVD player now that it has a menu to play it with. ---------------- I tried iDVD before, and it doesn't burn what I expect for. It did burn the DVD, but the DVD can't be play on my sony DVD player.
The following extensions are recogonized MPEG-4, DV, or .mov files Just convert your DVD files to those format files, then you can import it to your iMovie with a DVD ripper software
Depending on how the avi files are encoded, you can probably just drag them into the iMovie library. iMovie will then automatically convert them (this may take quite a while depending on the speed of your machine). Once the clips are imported you can use iMovie to create your production. When you are finished, you can use iDVD to burn your final product.
The Share menu can be found on the menu bar at the top of the screen. It is the seventh item from the left - (Apple) iMovie, File, Edit, View, Text, Share, Window, Help
Well since this in in apple and mac, I am assuming that you are looking for a solution that lets you convert to a DVD and lets you play it on your tv. I am also assuming you have a DVD burner, a blank DVD, and i would hope a DVD player for your tv. A quick fix for you if you don't feel like hunting for software is to impot file to iMovie then from iMovie to iDvd and then burn. Horribly inefficient. http://sourceforge.net/projects/transcoderredux/ this project may be up and running soon. Maybe.... I Initially would have recommended visualhub since it is a decently easy program to use and its relatively humorous. If anyone else has suggestions I would be intrested in their take on it as well.
No, you cannot put an iMovie on a CD, but you can a DVD if you have the app iDVD. However, if you want to put music on something, then you can do that through iTunes.
You can't. iMovie is only available for the Mac and is not available for Windows XP or any other version of Windows. DVD Slideshow Builder is a good substitution. Download it at: http://www.wondershare.com/pro/dvd-slideshow-builder-deluxe.html
