MAKE SURE THE GUN IS UNLOADED AND THE MAGAZINE IS REMOVED! Cock the hammer down into the firing position. Pull the forward most point of the triggerguard down away from the slide. (You'll see that the triggerguard is on a hinge.) While holding the triggerguard down, pull the slide back as far as it will go and then lift the rear of the slide up slightly, off the pistol body. Lastly, the slide will still be rung around the barrel; just slide it all the way forward off the barrel and the slide will be removed. Take care not to lose the few little parts/springs that are not fully attached to the pistol body. When reassembling, put on the spring noting that the end with the smaller diameter goes on first over the barrel. Simply slide the slide back over the end of the barrel pulling all the way back, and with the triggerguard pulled down, press down on the slide and let it come forward back onto the pistol body. This can be a little tricky, but work it gently and it will happen. Make sure to press slightly down on the rear of the slide when joining the slide back onto the pistol body and also be sure the front of the triggerguard is pulled all the way down.
