Use a quality oil filter wrench and turn the filter counterclockwise.
raise front off car, filter is left of starter on 3.1,get a oil filter wrench to take off.
I had this problem on my 1972 Chevy when the oil filter was put on they did not put a bead of oil on the rubber seal. I had to hammer a screw driver threw the side of the filter and then manualy turn the filter off.this is what i did . good luck.
It is under the hood. Right next to the motor. You have to take the plastic off.
take the filter off then unscrew the bolt at the oil filter housing
Take the drain plug out of the oil pan. Take the oil filter off. Put drain plug back in. Replace the oil filter (make sure to put a little bit of oil around the rubber ring of the oil filter). Put new oil in the valve cover (top of engine).
what parts do i have to take off, to take off the oil pan on a 2003 chevy cavalier
Be sure you are installing the correct oil filter for that engine.
take the oil filter off. CAREFULLY cut the top of the filter off, remove the filter element, and cut it to stretch is out. if you see 'metal flakes' in the filter element or in the bottom of the filter case itself, chances are you have a bad bearing. the oil will look like 'metallic paint'. hope this helps!!!
6QTS. with a new filter.
take the old one off, put the new one on
what can i do to take it off if it keeps on turning
Take off right front tire and reach in with a filter wrench to loosen and unscrew filter. Be sure to hand tighten only the new filter.
