How do you take care of a snail or snail?

Snails need to be kept in a moist container, with a heat mat underneith it.

They need some moss and a water dish. Not filled to full!

They need a varity of fresh veg and their tank needs to be sprayed with water once everyday.

they need some form of fake plantation. If it's a real pant,

they will eat it and it could be very harmful to the snail.

When the snail reaches sexual maturity, you will need to check for eggs once every week and dispose of them. The best way it to put them in a tub, with water and freeze them.

Its the most humane way of doing this.

If you don't dispose of them your tank can be overrun by baby snails! AND it's not fun!

I was throwing stones in a lake one day, when I picked up what seemed to me like a dark stone. Before throwing it, I realized it felt like wood. Upon further inspection, I realized it was a snail/slug. In absolute terror and surprise, I dropped it back into the water, grabbed a plastic baggy and scooped the poor little guy up, thinking it was just shell with a dead something inside. During the car ride, I figured that if the creature was still alive, I would keep it as a pet. It wasn't moving when I got it home, so i left it in a plastic baggy inside a container with the lid and bag open, to see if it would move over night. The next morning, I left it open, and when I came back to the house at around 2:00, it was moving and alive.

I would love to keep the little guy, but I have no idea how! He doesn't really LOOK like a snail. Kinda tube-ish when he comes out of his shell a little. He's also been sucking on the bottom of the container. I dropped a little piece of carrot in to see if he would eat or like it but he hasn't touched it. I scooped up some lake water with some stones and algea, so he willhave food for now. I also put in some ripped up oak leaves. Please help me with this problem!

(P.s., I have decided to call him "Gary" after Spongebob's pet snail.) lol :)

Keep it in a damp environment, which can be kept so with a spray bottle, and you may want to clean its enclosure frequently. A good thing to feed them is lettuce.
