The starter is located in the frount of the motor in frount of the oil fill. The cover will have a couple of bolts, unbolt them and you will see the back side of the starter. Now there is a wire running to the top of the starter, disconnect it and the starter will slide out. you can test your starter on a car charger to see if it works. WARNING: REMOVING THE STARTER WILL CAUSE HALF OF THE OIL TO DRAIN FROM THE WARRIOR. THE TIP (GEAR ON THE FROUNT SIDE) OF THE STARTER IS THE ONLY THING HOLDING THE OIL FROM COMING OUT.
About 2.5 Quarts of 10w 40 wet clutch oil.
I use 10W30 in my 1989 Yamaha Warrior.
10w 40 wet clutch oil.
take the cover off pull the old ones off slide new clutch on then put the cover back on.
A yamaha warrior does not have a timing. If it is backfiring like mine you have to get a diagnostics and something in the electrical system their is a switch that is turned off. IF you take it to a shop it will run you about 80-200 $$. I learned all this yesterday. Hope this helps. Antonio H
The starter is held on with 2 bolts. To get to it you take off the exhaust manifold, or pull the engine out of the hull.
just above the starter on the front of the motor. will have to take the starter off to get to it.
Take it to an authorized Yamaha mechanic. This is a tricky proceedure that should not be undertaken by a backyard do-it-yourselfer.
You need speciality tools and take it to a dealership that can work on it cause you can snap the crank
I have an 86 and I use supreme gasoline in it. Octane boost is good once in awhile too!
take it to the shop if u dont know
No you do not. It will come out.
