Take out the old one...then put a new one in.
just take out 3 screws from the fan and unplug it. take blower out of housing and replace, should only take about 20 minutes.

Nope, 87 octane is all it needs. Paying for a higher grade for it is just a waste of money. However, it is best if you can use 100% gasoline (without ethanol). I drive a 2000 Sportage, has 173,000+ miles on it, still going strong.

The ECU is located in the same housing as the air filter. (in front of the housing). Take the star bolts loose and remove the housing. You will see ECU inside it.
take off the air manifold, and under it is a big black box (thermostat housing), take off thermostat housing gasket (smaller black piece on top of housing and thermostat is inside it.
You take off the left front wheel and housing. It isn't under the hood.
