there's nothing to it. The shoe is putting pressure on the drum so you just have to yank it off basically. Just keep wiggling and waggling it back and forth, eventually it will slide right off.

To remove the rear brake drum from a 1999 Isuzu NPR, first ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported on jack stands. Back off the self adjuster and the e-brake adjustment.

Cavalier's were made with both and the cars model wont even tell you which size your cavalier has. You need to take off the wheel and try to read the stamp on the drum or if it's too rusted you'll have to take off the drum and measure the inside diameter where the shoes sit.
Remove the wheel and simply pull it towards you while turning the drum. If that doesn't work, hit it with a hammer to break it free, then pull it off.
