I have a 1999 BMW 528i and it takes 7 quarts of oil per manaufacuturers specifications.
The timing chain tensioner bolt sticks out the back left side of the cylinder head. Take the timing chain cover off on the left side of the motor too see the inside to the chain tensioner.
it doesn't have a timing belt but a timing chain which last till the engine dies well not really it depends how well you take care of your car.
Yes , it has a timing CHAIN
the 1997 grand am has a timing CHAIN. it takes approx. 4-6 hours to replace. that is if you have done timing chains before. otherwise...it might take longer
You have to remove the drivebelt accessories and then remove the timing covers and take out the timing belt or chain. Basically you have to tear the side of the engine apart to get it out. It's a good day or two of work.
i need a diagram for my 95 Chevy beretta for the 2.2L engine. I'm tryin to replace the timing chain, and i need to know what to take off and what not to take off
The timing chain is located on the left side of the engine, to access it you will need to take off the manifold cover.
It's under the front housing. You need to take the front pulley and everything that's in the way, THEN you can get to the timing chain.
To change the timing chain on a Toyota motor, you need to first get a new timing chain. From there, take the old one off. You may have to remove things in the engine to do this. Put the new one on, looping it around.
Take it to a mechanic.
Take it out and put a new one in
