I'm going to skip most of the obvious here (disconnect battery, drain radiator, disconnect hoses, etc.) and get to the good stuff. While a non A/C car is has a smaller heater box and is a little more simple, both are replaced basically the same way. The heater core itself is located under the dashboard behind the glove box. You will need to remove all of the screws and clips that hold the heater box together. You might have to remove the passenger side fender well to access a couple of the bolts. Once you get the heater box open, it just pulls out. It WILL still have coolant in it unless it has a pretty bad leak on the bottom, so put a couple of towels down if you don't want to get your carpet wet. Replacing the core itself is relatively easy once you have gained access to it, but working under the dash in never particularly easy OR fun.
Hammer and crow bar, guaranteed.
Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Remove the heater core water supply hoses. The heater core will come out. You can access the heater core in your 1972 Chevrolet Corvette through the passenger side kick plate.
unbolts from under the hood and then it comes out under the dash.

Drain the water from your 1972 Chevy Nova cooling system. Remove the heater core water supply hoses. Remove the heater core retaining bolts.
You will have only cold air coming thru your heater ducts if your core is defective.
Take hoses off under the hood that go to the heater box, unbolt all the bolts on outside of heater housing and pull the housing off to get to the heater core. you have to take out the inside wheel well
remove the four nuts in the engine bay on the heater box near where the heater core hoses enter. Drain coolant remove the hoses and pull the heater box out from the inside of the car. Remove clips holding heater core, than put your new one in.
I have a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro and I work at a car lot where we have several salvaged cars and i need to know what other heater core will fit on my car. I have a 2005 chevrolet malibu classic heater core and they look almost the same. Will it fit
One goes from the heater core to the water pump, the other goes from the heater core to the intake manifold.
The Heater Core will be located behind the dash. Hope that Helps.
In the a/c heater core housing under dash, pass. side
