Turn wheel until head of screw is visible use 7/16 socket to remove bolt use screwdriver to open slot slide jackshaft out.
On the driver side, under the dashboard, attached with a single screw to the steering column. It is square, from the bottom you'll see a wiring harness. It is attached by a single 10mm screw.
Remove the covers to the steering column, then use a small screw driver and push in tab on bottom of cylinder with key in run position and pull out.
Remove the plastic cover between the Dachboard and the Steering Wheel. Unplug all the wiring to the steering column (ingnition switch, turn indicators, etc.). Remove covers under steering colum and remove the bolt that holds the steering shaft to the u-joint at the bottom of the shaft. Remove two screws with round heat at bottom of dash that hold the sterring column in place. Remove steering column from vehicle. remove round head screw that holds column to ingition switch housing. Use a thin screwdriver and remove ingition switch. re-assemble.
on my 66 calais cadillac the flasher is attached to a cover that is below the steering column and dash. it covers the bottom of the steering column and the wires that thread up towards the turn signal and steering wheel.two bolts and a funny looking screw on the underside near the neck of the steering column hold it in place .
First you have to remove the cover on the steering column. Then locate the mounting screw for the switch. When installing the new switch make sure the alignment is correct.
Turn the steering wheel back and forth if that doesn't work try that screw under the steering column
Behind the steering wheel, you have to take off the plastic housing off of the steering column and it will be on the top behind the multifunction switch ... it's kinda long and square.. Pull the rubber plugs surrounding the turn signal switch arm and windshield wiper switch arm. Remove the two screws from the bottom of the steering column. There are clips built into the sides of the steering column housing top and bottom halfs that hold it together. You can use a long, skinny, flat screw driver to help separate the clips and the houseing will come apart. Lift the top steering column cover up off the hazard lights button and there will be the turn signal flasher unit.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove steering column covers Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition switch Remove the screw retaining the switch to the steering column
behind steering column trim,will need to pop bottom off with flat screw driver.its right there under key lock which its lock too.im trying to change ignition switch and its in my way.its black with a white label and wiring in bottom.
take the panel below the steering column off it is under there. should be small screw on the bottom of the panel & a couple clips holding it on top. pullon panel carefully to get the top to come off
Under the steering column one plug connectors 3 wires Held on to column with a Philips screw and bracket. Black relay
I can get you part way there. Start at the bottom and snap out the trim left of the steering column. This will expose the screw that holds the right side piece in place. Then take out the screws holding the bezel in front of the instrument panel and pull it off.
