Over the years I have ruined several an Alternator pulleys because I refused to spend the money to buy an Alternator Pulley Removal Tool.
I finally learned the hard way, and for a long time have used the proper removal tool; no more ruined pulleys!!!!
Due to the design of Alternator Pulleys, an ordinary "Gear Puller" cannot get a "proper grip" on the pulley flange, and the force necessary to overcome the friction of the force-fit of the pulley to the shaft results in damage to the pulley.
Go to any auto parts supply store and buy an Alternator Pulley Removal Tool. They don't cost much, and are well worth it in time saved, and the cost of replacement pulleys. Then just follow the instructins that come with the tool and you should have not trouble. Good luck!
to change the one below alternator you need to take belt off take alternator out and bracket to get at it. the tensioner pulley you need to take belt off loosen the three bolt on assembly the pulley itself has reverse threads on it it would be a good idea to change both of them
before you do anything with the alternator, make sure to unplug the battery. Then unplug the cables going into the alternator. There should be two. For the belt there is an engine part called a pulley - lift the pulley upwards to loosen the belt and take it off the alternator. Next you can unscrew the bolts attaching the alternator and take it out.
take the pulley nut off the alternator....the pulley is split.....shims between the two pulley halves adjust the belt tension
take a 3/8" ratchet, insert it into the square piece of the tension pulley till it loosens the belt enough to slip it off the pulley for the alternator, take out the bolts holding the alternator to the bracket, unplug the wires, and reverse to put new one on.
With an impact gun.
You loosen belt tensioner pulley, then take off the 2 mounting screws, then unhook wiring.

Loosen the tensioner pulley. The alternator belt will become loose. Take off the belt. Remove the wiring harness from the alternator. Remove the retaining bolts from the alternator. Remove the alternator. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.
First you will need to remove the coolant tank, then take the serpentine belt off of the alternator pulley. Next unplug the factory wire harness from the alternator and remove the bolts that hold it in place.
loosen the tension on the belt with the tension pulley, remove the belt then disconnect your wires from the alternator then take the 3-4 bolts, holding the alternator on, off. then do the opposite to put the new one back on
Crankshaft pulley diameter X RPM / alternator pulley diameter = alternator Rpm
you need to replace the alternator
