Answer: If you have a free chat account then you press enter and a dialogue box will pop up with a screen for conversation and a talk bar. This is only possible on accounts where the player is over the age of 13. If under 13 you have the chat button with set questions and answers.

to talk to someone by responding to something they said press "r" and type whatever you want. if you just want to talk out loud press the enter key on your keyboard and then type whatever you want. if you don't have the option of free speech then there is a talk bubble in the top left hand corner. click it and choose from the options displayed.

You have to press Enter and type something to write but if you are 18 or older. If you are younger than 18 you could tell your parents to use parental password to give them permission to talk in wizard101.com .... Or you could talk in the sign in top left corner.
