Geckos are not domesticated animals. They cannot be "tame" to listen to your every command. They are able to become more socialable with their owners. A gecko that is handled more often will usually become more socialable. They will also learn your scent, your voice and will even grasp the feeding routines. They will even know the time the lights go on and off.
Hand walking is always the best. Set it on your hand with your other hand under it, then he'll crawl on to the other hand, for about 10-15 minutes every day. He'll be tame in no time!
