Actually, some experiments in Russia on foxes indicate that domestication may be possible much more quickly than that; after just forty years or so of selecting the animals least afraid of humans for breeding, the fox kits are nearly as tame as puppies and act rather similarly.
The ocelot isn't a great choice for a pet (though people have kept them as pets anyway), because they're rather large (18-40 pounds). A better option would be the ocicat, a breed of domestic cat that has spotted markings similar to an ocelot but still has the temperament of a domestic cat.
