Say it the same loudness and say it clearly. If it's your first dog and it says you have to call its name AFTER it has learned it, what you need to do is tap your dogs status card and call your dogs name. It should then come up to you exitedly. This is a good thing. What you need to do is call your dogs name a few times, and it should bark in response. Once you say your dogs name three times, and it has barked three times in response, it has fully learnt its name. you can then tap the back button and then you will go into how to make your dog sit.

∙ 12y agokeep saying its name into the mic. of your Nintendo until sparkles go around and your puppy starts wriggling its feet making a little foot dance then type the name in WARNING!: don't change it because after you will have to keep saying it into the mic. teaching your puppy to get used to the name!

∙ 13y agoDepends on how bright that particular pup is, and how clearly you're saying the name. Some nintendogs are not as bright as others, and will take longer to learn tricks, and learns fewer tricks then other dogs. Smart dogs usually only take three times to learn their names and tricks, and can often learn 4-5 tricks a day.

∙ 13y agoPlay on your D.S a lot and don't give up just keep trying it all depends on how long you try to train it. it will take a while and if you get frustrated just remember to save continuously.
