It's best to use a magnifier. The second "1962" appears as a kind of shadow, with each digit slightly below its full counterpart. The shadows are about 1/3 of the width of the full digits.
Many closeups are available online. An image search for 1962 double date Canadian nickel will turn up thousands of pictures.
U.S. nickels dated 1964 or earlier contain the same copper/nickel blend as those dated 1965 and later. The only nickels that DO contain silver are "war" nickels dated 1942-1945, distinguishable by the large mint mark above Monticello.
