Limewire can download copyright-protected files, which is one reason why it is so contentious.
Limewire and file-sharing services are legal. You can download music for free from the service but you should not download copyright protected music, as that is illegal.
If you are downloading the wrong file format it will not play on your ipod.
This is due to Copyright and the fact that music from limewire is licensed. Apple do not want there music illegally download from file sharing places.
Limewire is a free P2P file sharing program..... so yes it would be free, but technically it is not legal to download files that way. Because file sharing is not legal in some places because of copyright and licensing reasons.
It depends. Downloading files over Limewire, by itself, is not a crime in most jurisdictions. However, if the downloaded file is covered by copyright and the copyright holders have not agreed to distribution over Limewire, then it's illegal. If you're referring to the Limewire Store then yes, most likely they have agreements with the copyright holders, and it's legal to BUY from the store. If you mean dowloading content from other users then most likely it's not legal - but it depends on the exact contents of the file. As I recall, Limewire has a disclaimer stating that it is illegal to download music that is not licensed. If you choose to break the law knowingly, then, presumably, you would be liable for any consequences.
It is illegal and unethical to download audiobooks from LimeWire or any other file-sharing platform without permission from the copyright holder. Instead, consider purchasing or borrowing audiobooks from legitimate sources like Audible, your local library, or official websites of authors and publishers.
Places like limewire that are file sharing sites are legal. However downloading files protected by copyright from sites is illegal. Even if it is only meant for personal use, it is still illegal to download the music without paying the copyright.
It is not illegal for anyone to use Limewire. It is simply illegal to download copyrighted files on Limewire, and the only people who may be charged for this is the original downloader. When other Limewire users download the existing file, it is simply called "file sharing," and it is most definetly not illegal. Soooo....no, no one has been prosecuted for using Limewire-just for downloading coyrighted files on to Limewire. If you aren't copyrighting anything, you have not broken the law, and have simply participated in file sharing.
It won't work because the the file you're downloading is incomplete or you are downloading things you have marked as junk OR you have a file missing from limewire wich you need restoring ;)
The peer to peer file sharing computer program LimeWire can be downloaded from a plethora of places on the internet. LimeWire can be downloaded from the official LimeWire website, or from other websites like CNET.

Limewire was founded in the year 2000 and has since been involved in numerous legal battles. Its file sharing network is constantly the center of copyright lawsuits.
