OK the biggest way to tell is if you can get inside the purse and see if it has its tags, they should say Louis V made in where ever usually Paris or Milan. The tags will be soft leather and usually in the inside pocket.
Another thing is the stitching all the way around is hand done on a real purse and is even and constant. The pattern will not be cut off but will be continuous, lining up perfectly with the next piece. If it is an older purse the straps will begin to turn tanish from its regular white, this is supposed to happen and if it does not it is a bad fake. On the other hand if it is brand new the straps should be white as if they are tan already it is a fake. Also check the actually symbol on the purse sometimes it is not the LV symbol at all but a close fake.
