NO....if Fuel pump doesnt sent fuel to engine...engine cannot combust...
Blown fuse, defective fuel pump relay, or the pump itself is defective.
i know that sometimes when a fuel pump doesnt work its not the pump, but rather the fuel pump relay try checking that
More than likely the float is bad on the fuel pump, so i would recommend that you change the fuel pump.
If the fuel pump relay switch is bad then the fuel pump will not be turned on. Think of the relay like a light switch. If the switch has a bad connection then the light doesnt work.
The sending unit is located on the fuel pump which is located inside the gas tank.
IT TURNS OVER BUT WONT FIRE
loose connector, broken wire, bad sending unit on the pump, etc
You need to find out which relay in the engine distribution box is the one for the fuel pump. I would tell you, but I dont have any info on your specific vehicle. Replace the relay. (Usually less than ten bucks or so.) If the pump still doesnt work then the pump is bad or the wiring is damaged somewhere.
If the relay is bad, then the fuel pump will not work.
The input line and output line might be in opposite positions on the new pump. Switch the fuel lines and see if that works.
Impossible to predict. I can tell you that neglecting to replace the fuel filter on a regular basis will shorten the life of the fuel pump. A partially clogged fuel filter causes the pump to work harder.
