you would have code "pending" and a check engine light
The Toyota 4 runner will not start, it sounds like it is going to and it will not, the starter, spark plugs are fine?
The oxygen sensor is located on the exhaust manifold and is the only item on the exhaust with wires going to it.
try to find out which oxygen sensor it is i believe it has 4 2 on each side. if they are going out it will defitley trigger a check engine light and cause a missfire you have to buy a special socket for it its way easier. and disconnect the cable usually has clips. and unscrew the sensor and put new one in its very easy
It is on the engine, under the intake manifold, there should be a wire going to a sensor there. It is right in the middle.
If you follow the exhaust pipe out from the back of the engine you will see a cable going to the oxygen sensor in the exhaust pipe. You will need a special type of socket to remove the oxygen sensor which you can buy at an auto parts store.
I just ran a check on my toyota and got code 27. from what I have found my code reader says "HO2S rear circuit" and I have read that it is an "oxygen sensor or circuit." I am assuming it is my rear oxygen sensor since in the Haynes manual, CA, is in parenthesis after the code 27. good luck I am a little stumped right now myself. I think I am going to order the rear sensor, change it and reset the code to see what happens. cheers
Bank 2 sensor 2 refers to the oxygen sensor on the passenger side of the exhaust system and after the catalytic converter. heater circuit is the oxygen sensor or the wiring going to it, it is what is called a heated oxygen sensor. Google image search oxygen sensor and that is what it looks like, and they can be a bear to get out.
on the exhaust pipe after the manifolds/you have a wire going to it and you unscrew it after you unplug wires going to it the oxygen sensor i belive is located either on left or right exuast manifold.
Only models with v6 have such sensor. If you have one of them, you can find the sensor in the hose coming out of the air filter and going to the injector.
The P1135 is set when the Engine Control Module detects a heated oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction. This could be caused by a faulty air-fuel ratio sensor or a faulty engine control module.
It's right after the exhaust manifold. You will see a plug going into it. That is the oxygen sensor. It has an oxygen sensor going into it and coming out from it. I'd say its housing was about 6-7 inches wide. Be careful it gets very hot.
the rav4 Toyota has four 02 sensors, i would reccommend going to your local Toyota dealer, go to parts dept, and tell the pars guy which bank it is and which sensor because they are not all the same. there is one located on top of the exhaust mainfold, and then one below, and the other two are under the car going through the floor board.
