Fox fur is longer than mink fur. Fox fur will also be fluffier and not hold to its position so easily. Mink will usually stiffly sit in one direction and not 'wave' so easily in the wind. Fox tends to have brighter colors like vibrant orange and red. Mink will usually be duller and colors like brown or black.

The difference is this , Sable has long silky guard hair. The fur is very supple to the touch anf fur is light weight whereas Mink fur is short and brisk or rough in texture. The mink coats are also more dense heavier in weight than Sable.
