I would casually mention something about the person you're seeing, like"Oh my boyfriend is taking me to the movies tonight, do you know of a good one to see". If that's not working talk about them a lot and maybe even have them come by some time when the unwanted person is there. This way you don't embarrass yourself or the other person.

You can totally be yourself because that's what they like, you can slip up sometimes because they like you for your good sides and bad sides, and the fact they already like you means they're bound to take almost everything you say well if it's admitting you like them too.
