well, you can do 1 of 2 things. you can just stop hanging out with that person steadily day by day and then, i think they'll get the message, or you can tell them, "I"M NOT YOUR BEST FRIEND, YOUR BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND, NOR AM I YOUR FRIEND, SO BUZZ OFF!" but you can only say that if you're a jerk.

∙ 14y agoDon't tell them at all. Just be nice about it, but if they are always following you turn to them and ask them if they need to ask you something. But don't go right up to them and say that they aren't your friend, it'll hurt their feelings. Just let it go and eventually they will realize you don't really want to ' hang ' with them.
