Italian leather is often made from the hide of ostriches instead. Ostrich leather is thicker and more durable than traditional leather. Italian leather is "full grain" leather, which is made from the very best raw hides, so that they do not need to be sanded to get rid of imperfections.LeatherDeskSets offer Italian leather office Accessories

Yes, they are. They smell of leather and look like leather!! That's the way anyone can tell!
I work at Capezio and I can tell you we get our leather from various vendors in Asia and the US.
Leather. Not "Bonded Leather", not "Bycast Leather", not leather that has been split and glued to a backing and called "top Grain". Just: Leather. Best are semi-aniline or aniline dyed hides.
An Aniline style leather will be absorbent and a pigment coated leather is not so the easiest way to tell is to put a bit of water on the leather and see whether it soaks in or sits on the surface. If you want to fully check the type of leather you have check here http://www.lttsolutions.net/whattypeofleather.asp
There are three main ways that you can tell if a Coach purse is fake, 1. on the inside of every REAL bag there is a little leather patch that says info about the coach, FAKE purses DO NOT have this, 2. most times fake leather looks like plastic, 3. the way the coach symbol is formed, if it doesent look normal, it is in most cases FAKE.
I use a Chamoie leather or Camel leather if you can get camel leather its well better
