Generally speaking, girls will not tell you or make it easy for you to know. They expect boys/men to be the ones who let them know they are interested. Girls/women like boys/men who are confident and bold. Trying and getting turned down a few times will not do your reputation any harm as far as FEMALES are concerned.
Girls will not come out and tell you. Instead they will tend to hang around close to you, put themselves in positions where you "accidentally" brush them. They may ask you how to do something on their mobile when they actually know how to do it. you get the idea?

If the girl is lesbian, it should be pretty simple. It's like any other relationship.
Option b. Girl is not lesbian.
This is harder. If she isn't lesbian, I'd suggest not saying anything, but if you feel like you need to get your emotions out, just pull her aside and tell her how you feel. Make sure she knows that if she doesn't feel the same way that you don't want to ruin your friendship.
