If you have a bad O2 sensor the check engine light will illuminate. You will then have the codes read by your local auto parts store. The code(s) will lead you to which is the faulty O2 sensor. The auto parts store will now sell you the correct O2 sensor for your vehicle.
Code P0135 means upstream oxygen sensor heater circuit problem right cylinder bank. Did you clear code after replacing the oxygen sensor?
You bring it to a service station and tell them to replace the oxygen sensor.
Upstream would be before the catalytic converter. Downstream would be after the catalytic converter.
Bank 1 = driver's side Bank 2 = passenger side Sensor 1 = front (ahead of cat unit) Sensor 2 = rear (after cat unit) chevy avalanche has two catalytic units, one below each exhaust manifold on the exhaust "Y" pipe. there is an oxygen sensor before and after each catalytic unit. Typically replace sensors in pairs (before and after sensors on one bank). Always check your engine codes and look up the description of the code as it will tell you specifically which sensors and what failure is taking place.
The rear oxygen sensor looks at the percentage of oxygen in the exhaust after it has passed through the catalytic convertor. The computer compares this with the reading from the front sensor to tell if the catalytic converter is working correctly.
Hi , hope you can help me. Can you tell me where the oxygen sensor and the EGR valve are located on my 1997 Buick LaSabre. Thanks
Read the side of the tires and it will tell you. It's written on the side of the tire.
You can test the 2002 Chrysler 300 M knock sensor with a diagnostic tester. The diagnostic tester will tell you if the knock sensor is working.
An auto xray scanner can determine if a O2 sensor is bad.
it sense oxygen come out from your engine to tell the PCM your car is running rich or Lean
Your MIL ( malfunction indicator light ) will be lit and a code for your O2 sensor will be logged.
Generally, the onboard diagnostics will tell you when you scan the computer codes.
