It doesn't actually matter which side is up and which side is down, either way it will grow properly. ANSWER The seed knows which way is up and which is down. Have you ever seen the roots grow above growund while the leaves are below ground?

Sunflowers grown in full sunlight will grow straight and tall. Leaning is caused by either the plant growing towards more sunlight (heliotropism) or a mature seed head weight the plant down slightly on one side.

Can you plant seeds from an avocado?

Yes, you can plant avacado seeds. There are 2 ways on how you can plant the seed. Either you can immerse the seed in water or you can plant it in the ground. If you plan to grow it in water, get about 3 toothpicks to make holes in the seed's side. Next you can put the seed half submerge in a jar or glass. You need to make sure that the pointy one needs to be upwards and flat one needs to be in water. If planning to plant in the soil, it needs to have good drainage and porous. The temperature needs to be in between 60 to 70 degrees. The soil moisture must be maintained. In these conditions, the leaves will appear in a few weeks.

How do you plant a Monkey Puzzle Tree seed?

Some people like to soak the seeds for 24 hours. Poke a third of the seed, (pointed nose down tail up) into soil. When it germinates usually after 2 weeks but leave longer if it doesn't, the root will push the seed upwards. Just water as usual (not too much) and wait for little tree to emerge (sometimes to the side..sometimes inside the pod) Pot on into 3 inch pot. Be careful not to damage roots.
