- If they are your best friend then you are being hypocritical by saying so all the while deciding you no longer want to have them as your best friend. In any relationship whether it is with someone you love; a best friend or even a relative in the family people have disagreements and arguments and you take a few days or even a couple of weeks to cool off and then try again in that relationship. No one is perfect and that includes yourself. Communication skills are extremely important so before your toss aside your best friend have the fortitude to talk to them about the difficulties you have been having between you before you decide to walk away.
