I'm sure there are others who will give you appropriate advise. Still, I would like to say this. All of us do things we regret later, so I will not be the first one to throw a stone. However, this type of event has now affected four individuals, and may have ruined a number of relationships. I would imagine your boyfriend and his best friend are no longer best friends. I don't know if your boyfriend will take you back, but still it may never be the same. So now there is this second relationship in jeopardy. Relationships are based on trust, commitment, and responsibility. The trust factor here has now been compromised. Will he ever be able to trust you again? Only time will tell if it's repairable. However, it's like breaking a vase, no matter how well you glue it back together, all it will take is just a little tap for it to break again. One thing you will have to be concerned about is this; If you did this once, the chances of it happening again (maybe with some one else) are going to be much greater. This is something you will have to think about for the future. I do not mean to be cold hearted about this because I know you are feeling pain yourself, but these are the consequences for the mistakes we make. If you feel the need to apologize, just be up-front with him, and do not make excuses. Making excuses will only backfire on you. Be up-front, direct, and honest. I would not get into an argument, or start crying, and begging. After thinking about it, me may appreciate the mature approach you have made to resolve this issue. When your finished, it will be the way it will be.
