I'm, um, kinda, um, polytheistic," or something like that (perhaps without the ums). Or, if your buddy brings it up him/herself, just say, "I don't believe in the same stuff as you religion wise. I'm polytheistic." I'm not polytheistic myself, but I've gon through something similer.
