The TPS needs to b change
The Throttle Position Sensor is located on the throttle body on the opposite side of the accelerator cables.
If the idle is too high, it is likely the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). If repeatedly stopping an restarting the vehicle solves the issue (temporarily) then the TPS is the problem.
On my 1997 Silverado the TPS is right in the accelerator pedal. Look close at your pedal for the wire and plug in module.
tps will be located other side ofthrotle to accel cable check for clean connection at tps plug replace tps unless you can test unit dave.cop
Im pretty sure that it doesn't need to be set just put it back on the same way you take the old one off.
There is a test procedure for that using an ohm meter. Consult a Chilton's or similar repair manual.
sounds like a damged tps, change the throttle position sensor, goodluck from jay!
NO ajust on tps sensor,. Replace
could be a bad TPS throttle position sensor OR a bad IAT idle air control temp sensor.
its easy it a sensor between the air filter housing and the throttle body with a wire harness connector on it. It shold be attached by 2 little torques head (kind of looks like a star) screws
The throttle position switch (tps) is located on the throttle body.
