I can think of two ways. First, the belt tensioner spring may be worn. If this is the case, you'll have to replace the tensioner.
Second, the alternator has some adjustment fore and aft. That might be what you need to look at.
You do not tighten a serpentine belt. It has a tensioner that keeps it at the correct tension. If it is loose, either the belt is worn and needs replacing or the tensioner is defective.
You can do that by replacing the tensioner
How do you replace the serpentine belt in 1997 sunfire
How do you tighten the serpentine belt on an oldsmobile ciera
You don't tighten a serpentine belt. The tension is controlled by a tensioner. If it is loose, then the belt has stretched and needs replacing.
Put the serpentine belt around the pulleys on your 2001 Chrysler LHS. Tighten the serpentine belt by pushing the tensioner pulley to the left. Tighten down the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt will be tight.
Most serpentine belt systems have a self adjusting tensioner.
Specifically, where and what do I do to tension either belt? Thanks!
You can tighten the serpentine belt on your 2005 Chrysler 300 by tightening the tensioner pulley. Push the tensioner pulley to the right until the serpentine belt is tight.
the Serpentine Belt on the 91 Lebaron is on Tension Pulley, you dont tighten it. But if it is loose and you need to tighten it you just go and buy a new belt and put that on.
Serpentine belt? You may have to remove to tighten alternator
usually serpentine belts get their tension(tightness) from the belt tensioner
