Very Carefully. With a long screwdriver. Wedge the alternator to apply tension to the belt with the screws loose. Still applying tension, tighten the bottom bolt first, and while still apllying tension, the top.
Watch out for Zombies while doing repairs at all times. You may not be able to spot them with your head deep in the car. Have a spotter working with you for your own safety.
