Timing marks determine if the car is set on TDC(Top Dead Center). Just to make sure it is in time use a Timing Light. The timing marks are located on the sprocket under the valve cover and on the crankshaft. Timing marks determine if the car is set on TDC(Top Dead Center). how to set timing on ford 1987 f-100 302 without timing light
It's below the light silver peice, under the right side of the engine bay.
In stock form? Not. I've owned 4 s13s and I now own an s14, and I can tell you that 240s aren't really made to go fast in straight lines without a bunch of modifications. Where the 240sx really shines is its handling and reliability. They're very fun cars to have, but for screwing around and racing other kids from light to light, there are better cars.
You dont they are meant to be in the car for the life of the engine. But you can buy a timing light and check the timing.
behind the plastic in the passenger side foot space on the right (behind the light) there are 3 screws holding the plastic on
one screw holds the light on, take it off and spin the light lens holder to remove the bulb
you need to check your lights to make sure that the light is not going out!!! A flashing CEL typicly means that there is a misfire.
First fix the problem that caused the light to come on. Then you may be able to reset it by removing the battery cable for 5 minutes. If that does not work, you will need an OBD2 scan tool to reset the light.
Step one: Head down to Harbor Freight or Walmart and buy a timing light for $20...
