First located the engines TDC on the number 1 cylender using a Degree Wheel. Find the timing marks on the CamShaft and line those up. Get a timing light, or not... I dont really think its nessisary, cause you can hear if its running good or not, but if you want absolutely perfect timing then you need one. And you can be able to buy a basic timing light from Walmart for like 20 dollars. Heres my tip... If you move the Camshaft Sprocket 1 tooth forward, the engine will sound exactly the same but will provide more HP and better fuel economy. Which is basically what everyone wants.
i have a 94 dodge spirit with a 2.5. and the spark plug gap is 0.35 I have a 92 Spirit with the 2.5, all of the 2.5L engines have the cap of 0.350
It bolts to the same bolts as the thermostat housing.
It is in the distributor. It is the plate under the cap and rotor.
Check bulbs and switch
you are changing speeds
It is usually caused by either a bad tire, or loose steering components.
The antenna wouldn't cause it to short out, that just helps it receive the signals to play music on the radio... How old is the radio... if it is factory from 91 then it might of been its time to go... i have a radio from a 90 Dodge Caravan, same as whats in your Dodge Spirit cause they carry the same radio and it short out on its own where the numbers and stuff wont light up but will still play music... I took the radio out of my 92 Dodge Spirit and put it in the van (since the trans went out in the 92 Spirit) and it works great... it might of just went out because it was ready to go.
Dodge Spirit was created in 1989.
yes, The dodge daytona carries the same engine, but you may have to swap out your A/C compressor bracket. I had a 92 dodge spirit and switched engines with a dodge daytona but i had to change the bracket so I could use my same a/c compressor that was still in a sealed system. worked fine.
If you have a Auto zone near by if you will get the thermastate from them which is only about 8 dollars it takes 3 min. to change it they will drop it in for you. They did mine.
The Spirit is cheap because as they get older, and some miles on it, it wont cost the same as it was new... but Spirits r awesome vehicles with the 2.5L, A413 transmission... they last basically forever... so if you get a 92 Spirit with lets say around 200,000 miles... that engine could last you 400,000 if not more... depending on how well its being taken care of... so buying a 92 Spirit for like 6-700 dollars is well worth it... plus i think that they look good to :D
Why is 92 Dodge Colt gear shift hung in fourth gear?
