You can use www.carfax.com they charge $15 for one time or they will let you join for a month and do as many as you want in a month I think its $30. Carfax doesnt really show everything with the vin, it does pull all reported info on the vin and they do guarantee if you find something wrong with the vin that they didn't find they will pay you big $$$$. You can also call the manufacture of the vehicle and they can check the title for free, just call your local dealership and ask for service.

If you know the VIN number, you might be able to trace it through CarFax.com
Every vehicle has the VIN stamped into the frame. Here is a website that will help you find where to locate your VIN: http://www.autohausaz.com/html/vehicle_identification_numbers.html If you have the Licence plate then you should be able to trace the VIN through your local DMV or Registry agent and the VIN will also be located on the Registration as well as the Insurance slips for the vehicle.
This is not a standard motor vehicle VIN number and as such without make and model info is impossible to trace back
At the dealer ship and have your vin code handy, because the guy in parts department can trace it down that way
