All sniffer dogs have the same basic training, the only difference is you need to encourage your dog to concentrate on the object you require it to find.
A tracker dog is slightly different as all humans smell different. When tracking humans it is an advantage to have an article of clothing belonging to the person you are tracking, if you haven't that advantage and you arrive at the scene of a crime and need to pick up the scent of the quarry (remembering the flat foots (police) have been milling around covering up and scent that might have been there, so you have to go out of the trodden circle and find some scent of the quarries escape, this is now most difficult. Causality and Mountain Rescue training is much easier as all the dog has to do is find a human, any human. Not a particular individual.
