Can you train a mouse to sit on your shoulder unrestrained?

first you put mouse on your shoulder ( works only if the mouse's eyes are open). Then start giving him/her some favorite treats. apple bits, small carrots, letuce chunks ect. that is how you train your pet mouse to sit on your shoulder.

Rats are curious animals. They are built to be able to run, hide, and climb. Sit down with you rat and let it crawl over you. Eventually it will crawl on your shoulder. When it does, very slowly, making sure not to let your pet fall, stand up. Slowly walk around the room. Try this everyday until you can jog with your rat on your shoulder.

Yes you can train a mouse to sit on your shoulder (or head.) My brother had one when he was 10 years old "Timmy." My brother would watch TV and the mouse would either sit on his should or head and watch TV with him. A lot of what Kechara says is true too, the more you handle them the more they get use to you. Marcy I don't really know if you could "train" the mouse to do it, but yes, it is possible for the to mouse be comfortable enough with you to sit on your shoulder unrestrained. Some mice will do it some won't and you can never really tell which ones will and which ones won't... All I can tell you is the more you handle them the more comfortable they get with you and the more likely they are to become a shoulder rider.... Again, there are no gaurantees, I have/had many mice/rats as pets over the past couple of years, all of whom where handled on a daily basis only about 25% of them enjoyed riding on my shoulder for a prolonged period of time. the others seemed more interested in what was going on around them and would much rather explore their surrounding on their own...
