How do you train for a stair climbing charity event?

Training to Win:
Train with the end in mind. To win a stair climb you'll need to be exploding up 2-steps at a time the entire time. Your training should train (in order of importance): Lungs, Leg Strength Stamina, Lower Back, Leg Explosion, Triceps and upper back, hand-strength, had toughness.

Here's a good set of cross training exercises:
-Biking up a hill (choose a long steep hill to burn your lungs)
-Running up a hill (choose a long steep hill to burn your lungs)
-Pull-ups
-Dips
-Your favorite lower back exercises
-Lunges
-Squats
-2-foot Power Jumps
-Jumping rope
-and of course, Stair Climbing (do it intervals)
