I'm going to assume you meant to say Tarrytown, since there is no Parrytown in New York City or New York State (or anywhere else, for that matter). Additionally, Tarrytown is not in New York City. It's in Westchester County, which is in New York State, directly above New York City.

You can take Metro-North, the Hudson Line, from Grand Central Station to Tarrytown. See the first Related Link below for schedules, fares, and other information about Metro-North.

Note that the Schedule and Fare finder is not working right now, because all Metro-North service is still suspended due to Hurricane Irene. You will have to wait until service is restored to get schedules and fares. The only thing you can do right now is download the timetables.

When you click on the Schedules link for Metro-North, it will say, "All Metro-North service is temporarily suspended due to the impact of Hurricane Irene." Above that message is a link to "All Train Schedules." Click on it, and then click on the link to the Hudson Line timetables.

As for how to get to Grand Central from Queens: it's difficult to say, without knowing where in Queens you're coming from. Which subway route to take depends upon which trains are closest to your starting point:

You can take the 7 train (the purple line) to 42nd Street-Grand Central Station.

You can take the N-R-Q-W (the yellow line) to 59th Street-Lexington Avenue, and transfer there to the Downtown 4-5-6 (the dark green line) to 42nd Street-Grand Central.

Or, you can take the N-R-Q-W to 42nd Street-Times Square, then transfer to the S shuttle train (color grey) east across 42nd Street, from Times Square (West 42nd) to Grand Central (East 42nd). However, the first route (transferring to the 4-5-6 at 59th Street) will probably be a shorter trip.

You can take the E train (of the A-C-E, the blue line) to Lexington Avenue-53rd Street (the first stop in Manhattan). Transfer is available between this station and the 51st Street Station on the 6 train (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line). Take the Downtown 6 one stop, from 51st Street to 42nd Street-Grand Central.

You can also take the M train (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line) to Lexington Avenue-53rd Street. This is the same station that the E stops at, and you can transfer to the 51st Street Station on the 6, just like you would if you were taking the E.

Or, you can take the M train to 42nd Street-Bryant Park, and then take the Queens-bound 7 train one stop to 42nd Street-Grand Central. Or you can just get off the subway at Bryant Park and walk the rest of the way. It's only a few blocks.

You can take the F train to Lexington Avenue-63rd Street. Transfer is available between this station and the 59th Street-Lexington Avenue Station on the 4-5-6 and N-R-Q-W lines. However, it's a 4-block walk underground to transfer between these stations, and the transfer is only free if you pay by Metrocard. If you use a Single Ride Ticket, you will have to pay two separate fares.

Transferring between the Lexington Avenue-63rd Street Station and the 59th Street-Lexington Avenue Station is a hassle, so you will probably want to take the F to 42nd Street-Bryant Park instead, and then either transfer to the 7 to Grand Central, or walk.

You can take the J-Z (the brown line) to Chambers Street. Transfer is available between this station and the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall Station on the 4-5-6. Take the Uptown 4 or 5 from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to 42nd Street-Grand Central. You can also take the 6, but you don't want to, because the 6 is a local train and there are many stops from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to Grand Central. It's only 2 stops on the 4 and 5 trains: Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall ---> 14th Street-Union Square ---> 42nd Street-Grand Central.
