There is nothing you can do. It will look horrible for a few days then gradually fade away like a bruise does. This happened to me a few years back, 3 times in 9 months. I had my eyes checked and the checks below and nothing showed up. You can get your blood pressure checked to make sure that is not a problem. If you are bruising elsewhere get a blood test to make sure there is not a blood problem. I have not had a problem in 4 years now. Answer Often women giving birth can have this from straining. It does go away. Don't worry about it. You should still get your eyes checked once a year because your Optometrist can often find different diseases through the eyes, so it's not just about whether you have 20/20 vision.

A broken blood vessel will go away on it's own with time. Don't mess with it too much. You wouldn't want to cause any more to break.

For most, two to three weeks (this is being conservative). If the problem persists, gets worse or involves pain, contact your doctor. If the blood vessel popped due to eye pressure, you need to contact your doctor immediately. This could lead to more sever consequences.

You let it heal on its own. This is a fairly common occurrence, and it looks really bad, but is not.

You can help to not make it worse by not bending over (so the blood does not run into your head under more pressure).

You would get rid of it most likely by having doctors perform surgery on you.

Close the eye and place ice over it. Other than that, some aspirin may help.
