You could take him/her to a groomer and watch a few times, then try it yourself.
However, most groomers do not know how to PROPERLY groom a scottish terriers face, they usually do a "generic" terrier clip that does little justice to a scotty.

If you insist on going to a groomer, bring along some photos, whether from a calendar or book/magazine, to show them HOW you want it done. STAY AND WATCH to make sure it is being done the way you want it.
