Plug The Seat belt in.
Your seat belt is not buckled. Buckle your seatbelt!
You are supposed to wear your seat belt in order to stop the seat belt alarm from chiming on a Hyundai Sonata. This is an important safety mechanism that should not be tampered with.
There is an electrical connector located under sear that connects to seat belt buckle, just disconnect it.
Fasten your seatbelt.
i actually wanted to do the same thing, so i grabbed the seat belt clip, the part that accepts the seat belt itsself, and removed the wires, by cutting them. then now my belt alert does not come on, its tricked into thinking that the seat belt is constantly on. just cut the wires.
you have to completely remove the seat belt case and replace the seat belt, you can go to a junk yard, and get one from a compatible car.
It is integral in the BCM; can't be disabled.
The seat belt electrical connection under the seat maybe be disconnected or cut.
The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON or START position. DaimlerChrysler does not recommend deactivating the Enhanced Warning System (Belt Alert). 1.Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and buckle the driver's seat belt. 2.Start the engine & wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off. 3.Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle & then re-buckle the driver's belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled. Note: Watch for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn on while unbuckling and off while re-buckling the seat belt. It may be necessary to retract the seat belt. 4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming. The Enhanced Warning System (Belt Alert) can be reactivated by repeating this procedure. Note: Although the Enhanced Warning System (Belt Alert) has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Warning Light will continue to illuminate while the driver's seat belt remains unbuckled. With your seat belt off, prepare for severe facial modifications in your first traffic accident.....
look under the drivers seat and passenger seat and there should be a wire coming off the seat belt that you can unplug to stop the chime.
