i have found the answer in the owners manual on some galants and others the dealer had to do it hooked up to a computer.
You cannot turn off the Daytime running lights on a Mitsubishi Galant without cutting the wire. This is because the car is set up to have these lights on at all times during operation.
check high/low beam relay and switch
NOT SURE BUT YOU CAN TAKE IT TO ADVANCED AUTO PARTS AND THEY'LL CHECK IT ON A COMPUTER FOR FREE.
To deactivate the alarm system on a Mitsubishi Galant 1999, place the key into the ignition and turn it slightly. Leave the key in this position for 10 minutes and then start the car.
pump the breaks as you turn the key. If that doesn't work, hold down the break pedal until you hear a click. My 96 galant does that
turn the dimmer switch up.

Break lights come on when you step on the break, they do not come on when the head lights are turned on.
Open the trunk, there will be a socket-like thing behind the metal panel, that has wires leading to it that goes to the back of the taglight. Grab it and turn counterclockwise, it'll come out, then remove the bulb, put a new one in, and put it back and turn clockwise. done.
Use your key ion the door turn it back then forth..den the alarm will stop
